Ooyala Names Scott Smith Senior Vice President of Field Operations

Leading online video platform makes key addition to leadership team


(Mountain View, CA) May 10, 2010- Ooyala, Inc., a leading provider of end-to-end video platform applications and services, announced today that Scott Smith has been appointed Senior Vice President of Field Operations. Smith, an accomplished sales executive brings an extensive knowledge of video technology, B2C eCommerce, multi-tenant SaaS, enterprise software, and multi-channel sales. In his new position, Smith will guide the growth and development of the company's worldwide sales and field operations teams.

Scott Smith joins Ooyala with more than 25 years experience in technology sales, most recently serving as Vice President of Field Operations at Qumu. Qumu, which was just named “Cool Vendor in Enterprise Networking 2010” by Gartner, experienced a 60% growth in 2009 with an exit run rate of 300% growth since Smith arrived.  Prior to Qumu, Smith served as Vice President of Sales at Marketlive, where the company grew its customer base more than 350% with its B2C eCommerce platform solution for retailers, catalogers, and brand manufacturers, driving $3 billion in ecommerce transactions.  Smith has also served in management roles at Peopleclick and Peoplesoft.
