STRIKEFORCE TAPS OOYALA TO POWER ONLINE VIDEO

Leading MMA Promotion Company Drives Site Traffic and Fan Engagement with Online Video

(MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA) August 17, 2010 - Mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company, STRIKEFORCE, has selected Ooyala's end-to-end video platform to power its online video. STRIKEFORCE will use Ooyala to publish and distribute live and on-demand video on their site.

"Ooyala's powerful video platform lets us create an immerssive experience that captures the excitement of mixed martial arts," said Andrew Ebel, STRIKEFORCE Director of Business Operations. "We wanted to create a multimedia portal where fans could connect and catch their favorite fighters in action. Ooyala made it easy for us to deploy a high quality video experience quickly and easily."

The multimedia portal includes pre- and post-fight video of STRIKEFORCE fighters, giving fans an up-close and behind-the-scenes look at action outside of the ring. This powerful content will help STRIKEFORCE grow its brand and strengthen fan adoption.

"Sports organizations like STRIKEFORCE are leveraging online video to build a personal connection with their fans," said Bismarck Lepe, President of Products at Ooyala. "By showing video of an athlete preparing for a fight or what they do when they're not in the ring, STRIKEFORCE is able to build a strong bond between the viewer and the fighter and more importantly, the viewer and the brand."

STRIKEFORCE recently used Ooyala's live streaming technology to showcase two of the world’s top MMA heavyweights, Fedor Emelianenko and Fabricio Werdum, during pre-fight weigh-ins for their hotly-anticipated, live SHOWTIME® televised main event showdown at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. on June 26.

Ooyala's live streaming technology allows customers to create and manage live streams with the same console they use to manage their video-on-demand content. That makes it quick and easy to showcase coverage of key events and reach broader audiences worldwide. Ooyala's analytics engine provides real-time viewership data for key metrics such as the number of viewer plays, the amount of video watched, where users were located and which online domains they used.
