In countries that lack widespread broadband infrastructure, Migo provides media on demand for data- intensive digital products and services, including traditional OTT. Rather than a stream, it delivers data as a downloadable bundle that is managed entirely by Dalet Flex, a media logistics solution designed to manage, curate, and package content for OTT and multi-platform distribution.

 

The Challenge

Wherever large populations have low or inadequate broadband access, a radical approach is needed. Migo’s goal was to bring the best bits of the internet to the corner store enabling consumers to purchase premium video content for viewing on smartphones or tablets. With 100,000 proprietary Migo Download Station (MDS) kiosks planned across Indonesia, Migo needed to rebuild their in-house technology to significantly reduce the cost of packaging and distributing content to emerging markets.

 

The Solution

Dalet Flex, combined with Adobe® Premiere® Pro, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud enabled Migo to fulfill its vision. While Migo now appears much like a mobile OTT app, such as Netflix or Hulu. The underlying technology, however, is very different. Rather than a stream, it delivers data as a downloadable bundle that is managed entirely by Dalet Flex, a media logistics solution designed to manage, curate, and package content for OTT and multi-platform distribution.

Consumers can now visit a participating store, connect to the store’s content kiosk, the Migo Download Station (MDS), download whatever they desire over a local wi-fi network and consume it anytime offline on their device.
