Dalet today announced that Media Capital, the leading media group in Portugal, has chosen Dalet Radio Suite to modernize the production and broadcast infrastructure of all its radio stations. The first station to leverage the new platform is Rádio Clube Português which took advantage of the change in technology to reposition itself as the leading news station in Portugal.
“Dalet Radio Suite provides us with incredible freedom and flexibility”, explains Mr. Sergio Rodrigues, IT director of Media Capital Radios. “It not only allowed us to tailor the production and playout workflows to our specific requirements, but it also offers us unique security and instant updates across our production and broadcast chain.”
“Dalet Radio Suite is the result of a massive investment in terms of research and development,” comments Mr. David Lasry, President and CEO of Dalet. “Its unique workflow engine streamlines operations from ingest to playout and allows broadcasters like Media Capital Radios to take advantage of the technology so as to implement new products and editorial concepts.”
Rádio Clube Português staff leverages the uniquely integrated newsroom production and broadcast features offered by Dalet Radio Suite. Fifty workstations provide journalists in Lisbon with scripting, scheduling and audio editing tools. Incoming wire agency feeds from LUSA (the national Portuguese press agency) and Reuters are automatically parsed and distributed by the system. Journalists write their scripts and record their packages straight from their desktop. In the studio, they read scripts and trigger sound-bites using a sophisticated desktop prompter – resulting in a tapeless and paperless workflow.
So as to provide true national coverage, Radio Club has five remote bureaus across the country: each bureau in Aveiro, Braga, Vila Real, Porto and Coimbra is equipped with five full-featured journalist workstations and a broadcast studio dedicated to local news. Dalet Radio Suite unique store and forward technology facilitates the exchange of media between sites, empowering Rádio Clube Português with a flexible content contribution network.
